Animal World is absolutely unprofessional and unreliable as a whole (both vet and recept staff). 11/10 would not... recommend. I brought my hamster to Animal World Vet Clinic for a tumor removal surgery on 22nd June 2021. First of all, absolutely nothing was explained to me pre-op. On hindsight i should have asked more questions but i was too nervous and worried, but i believe it is their duty to explain clearly about the procedures. 1. I was not informed what sort of sutures will be used. They used non-dissolvable stitches. They proceeded to not mention suture removal is required. Futhermore, non-dissolvable stutures mean the hamster may have to be put under GA AGAIN for the removal to go smoothly. As everyone knows putting animals under GA, ESPECIALLY hamsters, is a very huge risk. 2. I was not asked anything about histology and learnt about it thru my friends, and other vet clinics. I wanted to get histology done but they had already passed me the tumor in the ziplock and said it's not possible as it wasn't preserved. I didn't get the chance to decide. They then said "did u ask the dr? We didn't preserve because u didn't say u want" and that their clinic protocol is different. Basically... they tried to pull an uno reverse lol. Regardless of their clinic protocol, i feel they should at least have the courtesy to ask or inform the owners regarding the tumor, ESPECIALLY if their protocol is to not have it preserved. Plus, again, option for histology was not once mentioned to me. 3. Post-op meds such as pain killers were not prescribed. Not prescribing pain killers post op is really unacceptable of them. They said a meloxicam injection was done during surgery so no meds is needed. Meloxicam is a pain-killer and anti-inflammatory that loses efficacy after 24hrs, regardless of whether it is administered orally or via injection. After calling up countless clinics including 24h hospitals, because i really thought i was gonna lose her on the night of the 23rd when she suddenly had difficulty breathing, and asking those whose hamsters has undergone surgery, i found out that painkillers were the standard post-op care. My hamster was suffering in pain, unable to eat and drink, and had irregular breathing, until i rushed her to another vet clinic on 24th June 2021. 4. During consult, i asked about the type of bedding that should be used post-op and was told wood shavings is ok. I asked twice, because i was confused to hear that wood shavings is ok. I'd brought my hamster over with shredded kitchen towels as bedding and was told to switch back to regular bedding. After checking with many other clinics and with friends whose hamsters have undergone lump removal amongst other surgeries, i learnt that wood shavings is most definitely NOT ok post-op. It can cause irritation and infection to the surgical wound. Animal World did not bother acknowledging my worries and simply blamed everything on me, ie. "You didn't request it!" when i had NO CLUE what to request for since i was told nothing. They stopped replying after that. Perhaps a hamster is small and insignificant to them, but they are a vet clinic. If i didn't know better, didn't find it strange, and hadn't asked around, i wouldn't have managed to get my hamster to another vet clinic and who knows what would have happened. As a pet owner of 20+ years, i have never been met with a more unacceptable vet clinic service/attitude that at Animal World. They did not bother acknowledging my worries when, as a vet clinic, shouldn't your first priority be the animals' wellbeing? But nope, they just kept pushing the blame and stopped replying after that.read more
definitely on pricey side, but prompt and good customer service makes up for it.

Would like to take this chance not just to recommend Animal World Vet Clinic, but also to thank them for their... professionalism and initiative to assist us in our pet Snowie’s relocation to Australia. Australia is a very strict country in terms of importing of livestock and pets into their country, hence timelines as well as requirements must be fully met. As we did not engage a pet relocator, we handled all by ourselves. Without the great assistance by Dr. Elango, Dr. Brandon, the assistants and frontdesk staff, things would not have gone this smooth. They have gone beyond their scope of work to ensure Snowie’s able to relocate to Australia successfully and without complications. From the bottom of our hearts, THANK YOU! ◡̈ Blessings, The HOs Alvin, Jessica & Snowie P.S. These are photos of Snowie being collected after her 10 days of quarantine at the centre in Melbourne, and exploring her new home in Perth! Yes, she had to take 2 flights to get to Perth.read more

Emily had her very first dental at the clinic today. Dr Brandon and the staff were wonderful with her. They even sent... us 'before' and 'after' photos of her teeth. Overall, everyone at the clinic is very professional and caring and make us feel very at home there. Emily loves going there - which is rare, given that animals do not usually like clinics. Thanks for taking such great care of Emily!read more

The love of my life, Debbie, is 15 this year. Few years ago I brought her here with existing congenital heart issues,... collapsing trachea, and persistent wheezing + hacking cough. Her condition is now well under control, thanks to Sunny's kind advices and help, and Dr. Brandon's dedication even though I can be an extremely stubborn owner. :p This place is truly second to none for Debbie & me.read more
Unpleasant experience with the staff Sunny with poor attitude. She sweep us off by saying "yes, our doctor signature... worth $50 and if you're unhappy, u can always leave it and find other vet" and threw the paper on the table when all we wanted was to have a better understanding of what we are paying for. Nevertheless, Dr Brandon was caring on the other hand.read more
